are changed by pushing or pulling it

strategies and skills to comprehend information that is read, heard, and viewed
Benchmark 1.2, 5- Demonstrate sense of story (e.g., beginning, middle, end, characters, details).

Materials/
Resources:
Pencils,
crayons, paper, flip chart, worksheets, books and objects (preferably toys), drums, coffee cans with lids, magnets, metal
objects and paper plates. |
Focus
Prior
Knowledge: Give students different objects from the classroom and have them make
their object move. Take a position walk (walk around the class or school) and have student’s list objects and where
they are placed. Show pictures of animals and things that make sound and that move. Give students pennies and ask them to
hold them up when they see metal objects.

Drawing Skills, playing with toys, being able to discuss content learned,
observing visuals, following directions, listening, and the words, move and sound. |

Practice:
Look at pictures and read information in flip charts, books and discuss information.
Play music, experiment with magnets and objects. Discuss the motions spinning and flying as well. |

observations, drawings, dictated stories, rubrics, and questions with answers. |

Wrap
Up:
Play a version of Simon Says where you give students directions on how to move, when
to move, etc. Switch the leader around if students understand the game. |
